Come and visit our Troop if you are looking for a boy-led Troop who mixes high adventure, camping, and fun into the Boy Scout experience. "If you loved Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts at Troop 700 will blow your mind." (actual quote from one of our Scouts) We hold Troop Meetings @ 7PM at the First United Methodist Church in Grapevine at the Family Life Center (large tan building, next to large Sanctuary). Troop 700 - Backpacking Ouachita Trail
Troop 700 had 28 scouts and 11 adults go on the Ouachita Trail Backpacking campout in Oklahoma. Our scout leaders put together a great itinerary of activities. The younger scouts stayed at a base camp while the older scouts took the 8 mile trek through the Ouachita National Forest woods. Things did not always go as expected but all the scouts had a great time with many stories to tell. This was our first attempt at a backpacking campout and I know the boys will not let it be our last. Lot's of lessons learned and good experience for the next time. This was a great precursor to our high adventure trek at Northern Tier this year.
