"Orientation for Merit Badge Counselor" Monday, May 11 7:15pm - 8:00pm, at the church
You are invited if you are a current counselor, or are thinking about becoming a Merit Badge Counselor. Last fall, we had 18 adults attend this class.
You can get all the info, get trained and get registered in one night! Everyone who attends will be considered a trained counselor (with your Youth Protection training) and recorded in the troop database.

What is a Counselor? Boy Scouts meet with trained, registered counselors to earn merit badges. The counselor is the only person who can sign off that a Scout has met all the requirements for a badge.
Topics to be covered include: * Registering as a counselor, and the counselor's role * BSA merit badge policies and FAQs * The Scout's viewpoint and his responsibility * Tips for working with and helping a Scout earn the badge
Why should you attend? * To provide consistency and quality. Every counselor doing it the same way. * Inspire, motivate, and energize our merit badge program. This will transfer to the scouts and encourage them to advance. * We need more counselors and you have the skills and knowledge to share.
